RUN

command

Run the program in memory, or load a file first then run it.

RUN [file$]

file$ - optional .BAS path (.BAS appended if needed), or a .app package

RUN “name.app” mounts the package read-only as B:, CHDIRs into it, and runs MAIN.BAS. When that run ends, B: is unmounted. Bare RUN does the same for the current file (from RUN file$, SAVE, or the editor), except a previous package is not remounted — the program stays in memory. With no associated file, RUN uses the program in memory.

Stop a running program with Print Screen (PrtScr) or the OPTION BREAK key (Ctrl-C by default). That prints ?BREAK and returns to the prompt.

Example:

RUN
RUN "HI.BAS"
RUN "GAME.APP"
