Assign a string into a fixed-width field. LSET left-justifies the value and RSET right-justifies it, padding with spaces on the other side.
LSET stringvar = expression$ RSET stringvar = expression$
stringvar - a string variable or element
The field width is the width declared with DIM … LENGTH n. For an undeclared width, the field keeps the longer of the current value and the new value, so repeated LSET/RSET calls do not shorten the string.
Example:
DIM S AS STRING LENGTH 8
LSET S = "AB"
PRINT "["; S; "]"
RSET S = "XY"
PRINT "["; S; "]"
