TERM

WHAT IT DOES

TERM is a fullscreen telnet-style terminal. Type TERM at the prompt to open it, or pass a host and port to connect immediately.

With no arguments it starts disconnected. Alt+T, then Bookmarks, connects from a saved favourite or adds a new one. A host and port connect at once, waiting up to about 25 seconds for DNS and TCP.

FEATURES

• The pane

  The default is an 80-column pane centred on black (boxed, MODE 14, 960x540). View cycles Full, Boxed, then 80x25. 80x25 is MODE 2 at 640x400, a full 80x25 pane, and NAWS 80x25. The choice lasts for this TERM session only.

• ANSI and telnet

  The parser covers VT100 SGR colours, cursor on and off, and erase. Glyphs are IBM VGA 8x16 (CP437), so box drawing matches a DOS VGA terminal. Telnet reports TTYPE=ANSI. Incoming text defaults to VGA grey on a black pane.

• Bookmarks

  Bookmarks persist in C:/.termconfig, or A:/.termconfig when there is no SD card. Each one stores a name, host, port, echo, letterbox, and an optional 80x25 mode. Connect drops the current session and applies that bookmark.

• ZMODEM receive

  When a board starts a ZMODEM send, TERM receives the file into the download folder. The folder defaults to the current drive and directory. Esc aborts a transfer. Uploads are not implemented.

KEYS

• Alt+XExit TERM and restore the previous MODE.
• F10Open the Terminal menu: Bookmarks, Echo, View, Download folder, Exit.
• Alt+T, then BookmarksConnect from a saved favourite, or add one, when TERM was started with no host.
• Page Up / Page DownPage through scrollback after lines have scrolled off the pane.
• Home / EndJump to the oldest line, or back to the live pane.
• qReturn to the live pane.
• / , Enter, n, NSearch back. Enter jumps to the newest match. n and N step to older and newer matches.
• EscSent to the host. Press Esc twice, or wait briefly, to flush a lone Esc.
• Ctrl+A while connectedSent to the remote, so screen and tmux get their prefix. Use F10 for TERM's own menu.
